Home Modifications
The Home Modification consultation service is designed to assist NDIS participants to find the right equipment to meet their needs.
The home modifications consultation service has been designed to assist NDIS participants to find the right modified design to meet their needs.
Home modifications can be minor changes like widening a doorway or they can be more complex like changing a few areas in your home. For example, you might need to combine your bathroom and toilet to give you more room to use a hoist or shower chair.
You may need home modifications if you:
Have difficulty moving around your home safely.
Are at risk of falling.
Can’t use certain rooms in your home due to accessibility.
Have trouble with personal care, like using your shower.
Have difficulty pursuing your goals in your home because of your disability.
Need changes to your home in order for your carers to support you safely.
Home adaptations and assistive technology?
NDIS may also fund equipment or assistive technology to make your home safer and more accessible. This can help you do things you find hard because of your disability (e.g., remote controlled lights, curtains and doors).
